History reminds us of a beautiful saying that we are proud of: (whoever stayed in Mosul a year and checked his mind, he would have found it way well), and it is no wonder that our city of Mosul, ( UM Al Rabee'ain (the mother of Two Springs), has given birth to many genius in every class, including Professor Naoum Fathallah Sahar, the translator of the famous acting novel (Latif and Khoshaba),from the French language, Who is the unique teacher ? He is a member of the City of Mosul, a follower of the Chaldean Church. Born in 1855, he was born near the Church of Mar Touma. He attended the Dominican School, studied Arabic and mastered French. The Freres chose him as a teacher at the school after graduating from the school, because of his activism, intelligence and personality. They made him a supervisor of education as well as the printing work (as evidenced by his image in the printing press with the workers), as well as taken by the Dominican fathers as a public prosecutor for the affairs of the monastery with the Ottoman Government, and was able to carry out those responsibilities with all merit, due to his capable personality and information, and was able in his years of educational service to see Many students admired their teacher Naoum and called for the celebration of his silver jubilee to mark the 25th anniversary of his teaching mission (in 1900), but he suddenly gets sick and soon leaves the world in 1900. A young boy named Fadhil, who later became the accountant of the Mosul Health Presidency, and Fadhil gave birth to a son who was later a specialist cardiologist in Baghdad (Nemat al-Sahar), god bless them all. - One of the exploits of Mr. Naoum is that he wrote some books, the most prominent of which was the book "The Best Methods for The Creation of Instruments and Books", which was printed at the Dominican Fathers Press in 1898, to illustrate the Arabic methods of writing and editing when the Turkish language was dominant during the Ottoman colonial era. He also wrote another book published in 1892 entitled "Total Benefits" in Turkish. In 1896, the Book (Reading and Calls) in Turkish and Arabic, and the Book (The Sunni Masterpiece of Ottoman Language Students) were published in two parts. Naoum Sahar had an arrow in poetry and was mentioned in the history of Mosul by The Reverend Suleiman Sayegh (part 2-p. 272) and from him in praise.
